This policy explains what Wokreel collects when you use our app and website, why we collect it, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@wokreel.com.
What's public
Wokreel is a place to show your work, so a lot of what you share is meant to be seen. Your display name, username, profile photo, state and area, trade, bio, and any posts you publish can be seen by anyone, including people without an account and people viewing a link on wokreel.com. Search engines may also find them. Comments you write can be seen by others who view the post.
What we collect

On wokreel.com, your browser keeps a random code and a count of posts you've watched, so we can ask you to sign up after a while and count how the site is used. That code doesn't identify you, and you can clear it from your browser.
The app asks for access to your camera, microphone and photos only so you can create and share posts. Drafts stay on your phone until you post them.
Why we're allowed to use it
We use your information to provide the service you signed up for, with your consent where we ask for it, to meet legal duties, and for our legitimate interests in keeping Wokreel safe and improving it.
Who helps us run Wokreel
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with services that help us run Wokreel, and only as they need it:
- Supabase: database, sign-in, photos and voice-overs. Hosted in the European Union.
- Bunny.net: storing and delivering videos.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Expo: delivering notifications and app updates.
- Sentry: crash reports, hosted in the European Union.
- OpenAI: automatic checks of captions, photos and video frames against our community rules.
- Vercel: hosting our website.
- Netlify: hosting our admin tools.
- Google Fonts: the typefaces on our website, which your browser downloads from Google.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from serious harm. Because these services operate internationally, your information may be handled outside your country, with safeguards appropriate to it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, posts, comments, messages, follows and Respect are deleted, along with your uploaded files. Copies held in routine service logs or backups may take a limited time to clear. We may keep what we must by law, or a record of a serious safety issue.
Your choices and rights
- Change your profile, your notifications and who you've blocked in the app.
- Delete posts at any time, and delete your account from Settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, move or erase your information, or to object to or limit how we use it. Email hello@wokreel.com to ask.
- You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Nigeria, that's the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Age
Wokreel is for people aged 13 and over. If you believe a younger child has an account, email us and we'll remove it.
Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections and access rules on our database. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please take care with what you share.
Changes
If we change this policy in an important way, we'll tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
